Front of a well-stage houseDIY Home Staging, is it for you?  Need a house staged to get it sold, but you’d rather do it yourself?  Here are some practical tips to get it done:

Take a long, hard look at your house from all vantage points!  You must be objective!  If you can’t be, get a friend to tell you the truth!

Does it need paint, inside or out?  Be honest, would you move in or would you want to re-paint?

How does it look from the curb?  When buyers drive up, will they be impressed or keep on going?

Going inside, is it clean, de-cluttered and open?  If not, start to pack it up now and clear it out.  Home staging is about making it look spacious and clean!

Do you have lots of collections, trophies, personal photos and things that are just “you?”  If so, take them down and pack away.  You want people to focus on your house and not your stuff.

What are the best features of your house?  Play these up and call attention to them so buyers will be impressed.

The better you can prepare, the faster it will sell!  Home staging works!

Take time to fix the little things like, faucets, chipped moulding, bad flooring, or other things that detract.  Again, when you stage a house, you want it to be move-in ready.
